The time
when we face billions of cosmetic products to take care of us in the 21st
century is here and it is really amazing. A number of recommended products is
not able to room on the dressing table. In most cases women just rush to stores
to get products they have no idea of the effect and components to help them.
And it matters to assume the names and quality of products to stay safe and
beautiful. And yet, cosmetic products classification is the tool to help women
in this.
Classification
of cosmetic products and perfumery is essential both for professional and
ordinary consumers. No uniform classification has been created till now to be
able to specify all features of the particular product. As a rule, the following
tools are employed, namely the marketing classification (which is developed to
distribute products for sales outlets) which is done by the therapeutic and
preventive effect and extent to which the products contacts with the skin.
Marketing classification
This policy
is the most developed and popular. The groups are divided by the cost. Four
classes of products are known, namely mass market cosmetics, middle market
cosmetics, luxe and professional.
Mass market
cosmetic products. These products are the cheapest among the other three
groups. The oil processed substances are used as conservatives for such
products. The cost of such products is built on the ad campaign costing huge
funds. Among the brands manufacturing mass market cosmetic products are Faberlic,
AVON, Oriflame, Herbina, Eveline and others.
Middle
market cosmetic products. The product of this group is considered as the
averagepricing segment item. The conservatives used as components are
of
natural origin though developed chemically. Dermatologists recommend
that the
products of this group contain substances which effect as stimulants.
The continuous
employ of such products can result to premature skin ageing process. The
brands
among this group are presented by Bourjois, Revlon, Lancome, L'Oréal,
Mary Kay,
Yves Rocher and many others. Part of such products is distributed
through
network marketing and the rest is traded at stores, boutiques and molls.
Luxe or
selective cosmetic products. This kind of cosmetics is known to be made on
natural components only that do not cause addiction. Companies that are dealt
in luxe class product manufacturing are involved in independent investigations
in the cosmetic industry and have been in continuous search of innovative approaches
to take care of skin. The high price of the product includes the cost and elitism
of the brand. The reputed brands providing such quality cosmetic products
include Shiseido, Christian Dior, Chanel, Nina Ricci, Yves Saint Laurent and
many more.
Cosmetic
product manufacturers tend to divide the products into two subclasses.
The products
applied by the consumer exclusively at cosmetologist salons.
The products
that can be applied at home under supervision and recommendation of experienced
cosmetologists, only.
Professional
cosmetic products. Such products are extremely expensive. They are applied at
beauty salons exclusively. The brands offering such professional
products are Academie,
Bioline, Calayn, Taigo. The products are not offered at stores, real or
virtual, though the consumers believe they help cope with their problems
easily.
Classification
of skin care cosmetics
Such
cosmetic products are traded separately through the network of drugstores.
These products differ from the other decorative cosmetics in the therapeutic
effect. The products can appear selective or professional by the effect they
do. The most well-known brands are Avene, Vichy,
Klorane, Lierac and others. This group is also divided into two sub-groups in
it s turn:
Professional
skin care products. The major goal of use is prevention from various skin
disorders. The active substances effect on the basal layer of epidermis. These products are recommended to apply at home
for every day use.
Dermatological group of products.
These products are made to heal. The effect of active substances is done to the skin
surface and cells which function in particular way like melanocytes,
fibroblasts and others. These products are recommended to apply in courses
which last from one to three months, as a rule.
On the top of
it, many products are classified by many other parameters. for instance, the
products of esthetical trend which come as traditional, target, membrane and
cellular groups of products.
The other
parameter is the effect of active components onto the skin. Such products are offered
as cleansing, smoothing, rejuvenating, nourishing, moisturizing products. The
products classified by the application area as for hands, for face, for eyes
and other particular areas.
