Face resurfacing
is the technique intended to rejuvenation of the face and healing-up of the dermal
relief. Face resurfacing will help you when it is quite difficult to apply only
age-specific cosmetics to struggle and get rid of wrinkles, yet the acne scars appearing
in the youth time on the skin.
There are
various techniques of face resurfacing available, and we'd like to mention
among other dermabrasion, microdermabrasion and face resurfacing.
The principal
procedure of dermabrasion has the effect of mechanical peeling that is
performed by means of special devices. The skin area is treated by rapid
rotation of attachments in the form of a diamond wheel or a wire brush. A top layer
of the skin is taken off that helps to re-build the topography of the skin area
under treatment. Fine lines and skin-deep scars practically disappear, yet
rhytides become less visible. Dermabrasion is performed by freezing (cryogenic)
spray or under local anesthesia. It takes from half an hour to one hour for the
whole procedure.
This
procedure should be performed in compliance of all hygienic requirements since
the bacterial skin infection occurs thereon as a complication following the
procedure. The patient should be advised that those with darker skin might have
pigment spots after dermabrasion as a consequence. Just after the procedure is
done, the skin looks wiped off, it suffer redness and irritation and the
procedure might be often followed by swelling. Later on the skin area treated gets
crusted but this discomfort fade away in a week. And the face skin gets its natural
coloration in a few weeks. With the purpose to avoid pigment spots it is
recommended that sunscreeners be worn.
Microdermabrasion
is more sparing technique but, in any case, the face resurfacing is less deep. Microdermabrasion
evens the skin texture treating it as a peeler. It is recommended that
microdermabrasion be performed repeatedly to have better results. Producers of cosmetic
products now make special sets for performing Microdermabrasion at home.
The innovative
technique of face rejuvenation by means of resurfacing of the skin is getting
more and more popular recently. This technique has such advantages as the absence
of mechanical skin trauma, lessening of the risk of complications, absence of
blood or insignificant volume of lost blood, decrease of edema as compared with
the face skin resurfacing by means of dermabrasion, reduction of time spent for
the whole procedure, total recovery period is shorter.
C02 and
Erbium Yag laser treatments are used to remove both the top layers of skin and
the deeper layer. Thanks to defined and dosing effect of the laser superficial
damaged skin cells are vaporized layer by layer. The exposition to the laser rays
lasts fairly short period of time which allows avoiding burns. Apart from removing
wrinkles, small acne scars and other skin defects, laser resurfacing makes your
skin elastic and improved and it activates collagen extraction. And deeper
laser resurfacing is available for removing deeper wrinkles.
Laser
resurfacing may be performed under the general anesthesia or by means of using soporific
embrocations that are applied to the skin area treated by laser. At the date of
the procedure performance it is recommended that the patient take the antiviral
and antibacterial medication. Post-operation recovery period lasts within 1 to
4 weeks and it greatly depends upon the depth of resurfacing and volume of
treated area, and individual capacities to heal, correct and accurate
observance of all recommendations of doctors. The compulsory condition for all
patients is use of special facilities to protect the skin from the sun, wind
and frost.
Laser face resurfacing
is contra-indicated if there are new skin rushes or inflammatory tissues, if
the skin is susceptible to slow wound healing, if the patient administered Accutane
medication within the last year, if the patient is inclined to keloids,
prolonged hyperpigmentation, erythema, hypopigmentation. Yet laser face resurfacing
in not performed for patients with inflamed inner organs, herpes, acute chronic
diseases, attack of infectious diseases until the patient is cured.
