An outstanding fashion designer known for
block prints collection and intricate motifs, Ritu Beri, has made a wide space
in the fashion realm in India with her immense styles splendid sense of mixing colors
in creative works. The top most fashion designers she has brought a revolution
in terms of fashion boom in India who is recognized as the first Asian designer
to head the French fashion brand, Scherrer.
The Person Behind the scene:
The ace designer Ritu Beri, born in India, completed
her graduation from Delhi University in 1987 and enrolled in the national
Institute of Fashion Technology in 1988 that was affiliated to F.I.T. (Fashion
Institute of Technology) New York. Being associated with academic track Ritu desired
for doing something artistic works, especially, designing outfits interested in
fashion. Subsequently, she began designing fashionable clothes for herself and
friends as well. In 1994, Ritu Trained with Francois Lesage, master creator and
embroiderer, in Paris and afterwards she has been launching new collections in
almost every year.
In 2000, Ritu brings forth her ready to
wear collection in Paris where France Luxury Group, Sherrer's owners, bought
Beri's own label.
Ritu's Collections:
Ritu entered into the fashion career in
1990 making her first line of clothing called Lavanya brought a complete
success in her homeland and on the international market as well with a range of
selling out very quickly.
In 1995, recognized as a player in the
international fashion scene, with ‘Lavanya' Ritu introduced a new fashion item
named 'Sanskriti ' comprised of a more cultural offering that led the consumers
to go back to their roots and traditional values. At the same time, the
collection divided into four sequences offered a range of clothing that delighted,
in particular, the ethnic Indian population recognizing her as even bigger star
across the country.
To Fund animal-care centers placed in India,
Ritu launched a unique line of animal styled products range called Caring means
sharing comprised T-shirts, caps, stuffed toys, jugs, notepads, posters,
postcards, pens and key chains. As a tool of creating pieces of sheer artistic
excellence from fabrics of different shades, colors and texture, Ritu showed her
charismatic styles how zippers could be used in innovative and spunky uses that
goes to not only for the youth but for those who are young at heart. For modern
women the designer zipper collection made strong inroads into the fashion world
include trendy pants, miniskirts, dresses and corsets in denims, bright
corduroys, army fatigues and gold silver faux leather symbolizing energetic,

Ritu designed uniforms for many corporate
and institutional customers, to illustrate, the Hyatt Regency Hotel, New Delhi,
the Delhi Police force, the Indian competitors to the Atlanta Olympic Games. In

London and Paris.
Most recently, Ritu Beri introduced a new
jewelry line in collaboration with the D'damas gems brand included necklaces,
pendants, earrings and finger rings which would be sold from the D'damas as
well as the Beri's outlets throughout the country. The population of India has
a relation with gold for centuries and
millennia. This is why she chooses to enter the jewellery design arena with an
ethno-contemporary gold collection. This collection symbolizes the unique
qualities of the precious metal. The eternal, but impressionable nature of gold

Ritu has written a award winning book titled 'How to Look your Best' while she
is also known to a famous columnist who writes in Indian leading journals.
Ritu is remembered as she is the first and
the only Indian designer who presented her fashion creations at ‘la semaine de
la haute couture' in Paris and was invited by Swarovski to stage her ‘spring or
summer 2000 collection' at Vienna. In 1997, she was selected as the most
popular Indian designer in a countrywide opinion poll. In addition, she won the
coveted Creative Woman of the Year Award along with Hind Gaurav Award, Bharat
Nirman Award and Akea Best Delhi Designer Award in 1996.

family of Saudi Arabia to design clothes for a family wedding.
