Sitting Room Furniture

A sitting-room is a place which is mainly decorated and designed to meet guests. This is the place where people sit and spend the time discussing over something. The dining room is for the loud parties and feasts. The meal is taken in the dining room and guests – in the sitting room, to be stated by one of classic writers. When you can boast with the apartments of eight rooms there, this is a perfect base to follow this principle providing you have a small family. The modern flats are rather smaller, unfortunately, and the place is used for many purposes then.

Niello – Ancient Jewelry Traditions

When passing by the windows of the jewelry shop, we stop to stare at those silver items with the ornament, whether intentionally or not. Chastity belt: the Venetian grate

Sunday, 12 October 2008

chastity belt venetian grateFor almost our lifetime, men have tried to chain us with sex chains, doubting the loyalty and reliability of a woman's heart. Perhaps we are not always correct because of the inconsistency in our blood, but it does not necessarily mean that you have to ridicule all our origin, dressing in iron or leather fetters.

The first symbol of the chastity belt is believed to have emerged during the Ancient Egypt when a slave owner tied a usual string at her waist. Later in the Ancient Greece, female slaves tried to protect themselves from unwanted pregnancy by using two strips of leather - one was used to clasp the waist of girls, while the second clasped the perineum. Men never cared about the unsanitary conditions of such devices, and so all the time women had to suffer carrying ugly devices. The Ancient Rome did not lag behind from other countries practicing the same and also locking girls with leather belts. However, it was only prostitutes that sellers exhibited on the streets. At the agreed time, the leather chastity belt is removed from the girl of easy virtue so that the customer can make use of their purchase. In addition, this atrocity had another character - by wearing the belt constantly, the slaves did not get pregnant, but if it occured, then the leather belt, which can not be removed personally, pressed the stomach thereby causing miscarriage. After this the female slave is again put in order.

The Ancient China is very different in this regard from other countries because even those girls who wore chastity belts that were weaved like wicker baskets could care for their personal hygiene. First, the baskets were weaved in such a way so as not to interfere when easing nature. Secondly, they could remove it once a week for a full bathing. The belts were dressed on them not by jealous husbands but by women themselves to save the vows.

For a while men stopped to ridicule the weaker sex, but in the Middle Ages they started it over. Then the time of the general locking of women with chastity belts with the help of blacksmiths began. From the XII century women had to deform their figure due to the wearing of the steel belts at the waist and the perineum. After several months of wearing it, the body experienced irreversible damages: the backbone and legs deformed, the diseases of the internal organs and the urogenital system emerged. The chastity belts found themselves during the days of the Crusades, from which not all men returned. It was impossible to personally remove the iron hoops. In some cases women went to court, which sometimes did recognize the right to be called a widow and removed the shameful belt. At the same time an active production of belts began in secret when at attempts to remove it or cheat on a husband, and the woman and her lover risked losing or maiming their genitals. These secrets were specially loved by inventive seamen. During the Renaissance period, there was a real boom on chastity belts. By this time they were used not only to protect against adultery, but also as women's accessories. Indeed, some were made of gold, ivory and precious stones.

For the convenience of wearing, the inside part was made with a soft velvet. The jewelers of Bergamo and Venice produced these works of erotic art. Then it became fashionable to wear sex chains. Beautiful and delicate belts were called Venetian grate or Bergamo lock, and many mothers boasted that their daughters from the moment of attaining the puberty age wear such a beauty. The chastity belt was handed over to the future husband at a wedding as one of the most precious gifts. After the first wedding night, the groom announced to everyone that the lock and gate to paradise was safe. During our time, being faithful is not always considered the most interesting ocupation, and wearing a chastity belt for the sake of your loved one a foolery.

However, on the other hand, the toys offered in sex shops that are capable of diversifying a sexual life are very different from the precious works of old masters. Besides, it may be covered with diamonds and many people would agree to wear the belt made of gold.

Men’s Muffler – a Scarf with the French Accent

Muffler is a kerchief or a scarf which seems to be uncomplicated for use though it sometimes confuses in purpose. The word coming from the French «cache-nez» means «hide your nose» which is completely unreasonable for this garment today. On the contrary, this piece of clothes proves to be the decorative element in the wardrobe in every possible way. However, this does make neither men nor women upset for not a jot, since there are far more considerable garments in volume and material to use if necessary. A muffler is a perfect complement to the elegant apparel with the hint of being aristocratic which is too essential for the business image.

It consolidates its grip on one's skin firmly enough and remains on the skin for 2-3 hours. The patient, being in the bath, is exposed to radon radiation which penetrates the skin and through the lungs into the blood flow.
