Some time
ago I discovered several grey hairs. This is terrible but I noticed that to the
age of thirty my hair is touched with grey. Yes, this is very true. That
happened when I was just about to dye my hair, and I got terribly disappointed.
And I came
to the idea that I have to do something with it. Most of women believe that grey
hair is a great problem equal to alopecia, when there is no way back.
If I were much
over thirty I would not get panic at all since this is natural to happen with
all humans, but I think I am too young (only thirty) to experience such
catastrophe.
And I
wondered why it happens and how to explain the mechanism of nature?
Irrespective
of the age, grey hair is the cause of insufficient formation of melanocytes
(pigmentation cells) and creation of numerous air bubbles in the cortex of hair
shaft that reflex and strengthen the white coloration of grey hair. With the
lapse of time the concentration of melanin disappears gradually, and finally it
is over at all.
Age is the underlying
cause of the appropriate «senile» canities. Though there are dozens of reasons
that cause poliosis including abuse of alcohol and coffee, poor food ration
with lack of vegetables and fish, vitamin deficiency, chronic neurasthenia and
long-time stay in the sun. Moreover, the poliosis may be caused by the
impairment of central and peripheral nervous systems, by severe and regular
stresses and shocks.
The other reason
that causes poliosis appears to be heredity. In this case canities may come out
even at the age of 20.
Also
serious and severe diseases lasting for long time may provoke poliosis, yet
some experts consider that poliosis is typical to people who experienced
particular viral diseases as adults, like cytomegalovirus.
Autoimmune
diseases (pernicious anemia, albinism, thyroid glands diseases, various
syndromes), some dermatological diseases (alopecia areata, erysipelatous
inflammation, herpes), hormonal disorders, kidney diseases, hypovitaminosis (for
example, Vitamin В12 with
Biermer's disease) may provoke reduction of melanocytes and cause poliosis.
Be careful
when you are in need to administer such medication as chloroquine, resochin, hydroquinone,
phenylthiourea and others, for they appear to be potential «enemies» for your
natural color of hair.
With some particular
diseases as migraine, erysipelas, alopecia areata, poliosis is very possible.
In some cases the color of hair changes due to such diseases as seborrhea, copper
deficit in the organism, thyroid functions disorder. In any event, timely seek for
the medical advice will help to define the health status, reveal the cause of
the problem and recommends the methods of correction.
What to do?
1. Never pull the grey hair out.
This is not the way to get rid
of them, but when you do it, you are at the risk to have more grey hair in the place
where the hair is pulled out.
2. The most
effective way to struggle with the poliosis is dying. From recent times the special
cream Poly Re-Nature Crème appeared in beauty salons that make your grey hair
have its natural color. Moreover, the unique preparations are available in the market
that dyes only the grey hair leaving unchanged the color of the rest hair. The
dying procedure takes 5 minutes only, and a woman enjoys the results for the
nearest 6 to 8 weeks.
3. Folk
remedies used to prevent poliosis and available to anyone is preparation and
intake of parsley root sap, 1 to 3 tablespoons a day. Parsley may be replaced by
celery or parsnip. With the prevention and therapeutic purposes the juice of
apricot, cherry, plain plum, wild strawberry, warm grey blackberry, white
cabbage and bulb onion is rubbed in the roots and onto the scalp.
4. The
medications struggling with this problematic disease are recommended those that
increase the tone of organism, like vitamins (А, С, Е, nicotinic
acid, riboflavin, folic acid, Vitamin B group), and methionine. The course of
treatment should be taken twice a year. In particular cases the natural color
of hair may be returned when large dozes of PABA with the folic acid is
administered.
5. It is quite
difficult to restore the initial hair color and make the progress of poliosis
go back. It is far easier to care of you and your hair in the good time.
Valuable nutrition with sufficient vitamins, healthy life-style, and tender
care of the organism are good helpers to prevent and slowdown the process of
getting grey.
On the
second though, you may find grey hair somewhat positive. It is not that simple,
though. The drawback can always be turned into
the advantage, and the key rule is the correct attitude to the situation.
