As is known, the woman's character is unstable, unpredictable, and at times freakish and fastidious. It is necessary to say that this woman's nature is not only due to her natural sensitivity and uncommonness, but also due to her physiological characteristics at a certain period.
It has long been observed that the physical
condition of a woman depends on her menstrual cycle. About two weeks
before her menstruation, a woman experiences uncomfortable feelings
(psychological or physical, and often both simultaneously). What is the
reason of this? The fact is that the second phase of the menstrual
cycle is marked by ovulation - the release of mature eggs from the
ovary. At this time the body thoroughly gets ready to receive
fertilized egg and produces a number of hormones, and the chief among
them is progesterone, which, according to many experts, is the cause of
women's PMS. Progesterone may cause drowsiness, weakness, increase of
appetite and body temperature, and increase in weight. However, the
main PMS symptom of most women is perhaps premenstrual irritability.
Everything easily annoys a woman during this period. She does not like
what she hears, sees and feels. She hates all those things that did not
bother her before. She becomes resentful and whining.
PMS
is often accompanied by depression, obsessive worry and fearfulness.
However, a completely opposite reaction can also happen: a woman
literally goes on the rampage, she is nagging and irascible, and her
mood changes regardless of circumstances and environment. And such a
condition usually lasts till the beginning or end of menstruation
(individual to all).
Another form of PMS is
the physical type, which causes body pain. Some women suffer from
migraines, from pulling or cramping pain at the bottom of the stomach.
Others suffer from nausea, dizziness, swelling of breasts, severity and
discomfort throughout the body. Note that the described symptoms can
occur in many different combinations. The psychological symptoms often
appear simultaneously with physical indisposition. It is easy for
someone supervising a woman to distinguish PMS from disease.
Of
course, the main feature of PMS is its recurrence and attachment to
menstruation. If there are unpleasant feelings repeatedly from month to
month and at about the same time before the beginning of the
menstruation and ends with their approach, then you can be sure that it
is a premenstrual syndrome. If the premenstrual state on manifestation
permanently beats the woman of a normal rhythm, then you should see a
gynaecologist - endocrinologist, who will try to soften this behaviour
with drugs.
Apart from the medical treatment
options for PMS, there are other possibilities and means:
physiotherapy, manual effects, acupuncture, and special psychotherapy.
However, in most cases, PMS does not require a complex treatment. To
remove the light symptoms, one can get advice on the use of traditional
medicine. For example, drinking strong green or black tea with the
addition of peppermint, melissa and origan. For exhausting headaches,
traditional medicine recommends drinking a cold glass of birch leaves
infusion each hour and then taking a walk for few minutes. Apart from
this, women are advised at this time to avoid stress and overwork.
Leisure, walking, swimming in the pool, as well as warm baths and other
water procedure would help preserve the mental equilibrium during this
period and avoid the aggravation of premenstrual syndrome.
