Anil Ambani is an Indian businessman, a
billionaire (whose bankroll is supposed to be sixth in the world according to
the Forbes year 2008 rating with forty two billions in it.) He is the executive
director and the chairman of several companies, including Reliance Capital,
Reliance Communications, Reliance Energy. Anil graduated from Mumbai University
with a bachelor degree and then graduated with a master's bachelor degree of
arts from the Worton school of the Pennsylvania University. Anil Ambani is
married (her wife's name is Tina Munim, and she is a former actress), Anil has
two sons.
The whole Anil Ambani's business-career was
interconnected with his and his brother's (Mukesh Ambani) business competition,
who is fifty one years old, a billionaire and according to the same very Forbes
year 2008 rating his bankroll occupies fifth place with forty three billions in
it). Mukesh is also the owner of the Reliance Industries corporate group. This
whole competition has brought fame to both brothers all over the world apart
from their huge bankrolls. Not only India but the whole world has been watching
the secretive (and sometimes very well-revealed) battle between the two
brother-billionaires.
The competition has begun once the brothers'
father, the co-founder of the Reliance Industries corporate group (1938-2002).
After his death no testament was found, which was very improvident from his
side. The two brothers have immediately got to each other's throats. The whole battle
lasted for three years. There were numerous scandals (including public ones), lawsuits,
numerous courts, stock market's fevers and the whole thing only finished by the
time the mother of the two disputants - Kokilaben Ambani -approached the finance
minister of India in appeal to split up the inheritance.
At the end, after the money and the possessions
were split, eight billions and the best corporate group's enterprises (prospecting
and refining enterprises along with petrochemical factories and multiple shop
retailing) were given to the older one of Ambani's - Mukesh. All Anil got to get
was the «humble» amount of five billion dollars and the worse part of the
businesses. He got to get the entertainment industry, credit and financial companies
along with the insurance companies, energetic systems and communication
businesses.
It was predicted that after the family businesses
were split up, its breakdown was soon to come. The stock market got into fever state
again. But not only the catastrophe did not happen but the exploding rise of
every single Reliance corporate group's shares at the stock market as good as the
miracle has saved the day for the Ambani's family. Even furthermore Anil Ambani's
businesses' rise was developing at a much faster rate than his older brother's
businesses. Whilst Mukesh Ambani's bankroll has risen in 2.14 from the year
2007 to 2008, Anil's bankroll has risen in 2.31 even though his possessions do
not include the best parts of the Reliance family corporate group.
Anil Ambani has this very talent of making
money out of everywhere. His Reliance Power project, that was created in order
to get rid of the lack of electricity in the country, has gathered five
millions of the individual IPO signatures. This is rather extraordinary, since emissive
convention honestly stated that the company does not possess any of the power
station and completely no power plants, there are no profitable activities and
so on and so forth - sixty six bullet points were stated and they did not sound
well at all. Frankly speaking, the startup standing order stated the following:
we have got nothing but we hope for the brighter future. The shares were sold as
quickly as possible and they've all brought Anil three billion dollars of
income. Even the shares' slight collapse did not shatter the investors' confidence
and trust.
Well, it seems that the Indian scale is definitely
not enough for Anil Ambani and therefore the businessman tries to grow his
media-empire big all over the world. This all will bring him power over the
thoughts, minds and souls.
Anil's methods are as simple as it gets and
it is really effective. Around 1.7 Million Indians are living in the USA and
there are not enough Indian films that go on air in there. It is considered that
such movies won't be paying themselves off and therefore do not go on air in
the cinema, since Indians don't tend to gather together in the USA. Anil Ambani
believes that the experts' opinions are not exactly correct and from the
beginning of the year 2007 the Reliance Entertainment, owned by the Indian
businessman simply buys the cinemas from small American operators. Around 250 cinemas
were purchased in those towns where Indian immigrants' concentration is at its
highest (Washington or San Jose for example). The most amount of the films that
are been shown in those cinemas are being produced at the Ambani's own film
studio. Anil also wishes to go on with purchasing the cinemas in the Great
Britain, Malaysia and Japan.
Anil seems to not be stopping at the path of
the enlightenment of the Indian immigrants in the ways of the historical home
and birthplace. Anil is now working on the organization of the ethnical movie
performances for Chinese and Koreans (who are known for living right next to
Indian immigrants).
Since three percents of the Reliance Entertainment
group were purchased by Jord Sorso (for one hundred million dollars), the
enterprise will have its success soon enough since Sorros has this fantastic instinct
for the profitable enterprises and businesses.
Some say that such successful summary of Anil
Ambani's business career is connected with the so called youngest brother preconception
he might feel or even suffer from. This very well might be true. If so, then we
can see a rare event of the preconception development where the negative
becomes the reason for the positive. Furthermore the extreme eagerness of Anil
Ambani encourages Indians to work harder and better for the best of it.
In order to try to beat his older brother, Anil
is also going up the first place of the «golden» rating of the world. However,
another person can very well be his competitor in this very race. The man's name
is Oleg Deripaska. Oleg has already decided he wants to come first on the Forbes
bankroll list sooner or later. However the competition is rather sport for
Deripaksa, whereas Anil Ambani considers the race the biggest thing of his
life. All that he has ever had was the result of his will to win over his older
brother. I really wonder who really wins now?
