Ever
since the war for independence was over, there has been a need in a new image
for the new America to see all over the world. It is now vital for the USA to
stop demonstrating those jaws of an imperialistic demon but start showing
everyone the real smile of the real democracy, especially after the country's
image has been declining heavily for some time. One cannot but recall a joke
about a rat that needed to change its image-maker. Well now one can send out congratulations
to the United States. Barack Obama, a newly elected 44th president of the
United States of America is capable of creating such image for the country, an
image that none of those image-makers such as John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther
King, Che Gevara, Mahatma Gandhi and Mao, could dream about.
Just
the presence of Obama's in the presidential chair shoos all of the possible
racist accusations towards the USA away and proves the old but still relevant
thesis of the state of the equal (and outstanding) opportunities. There
certainly was a reason behind Obama's speech after he has been elected: «If
there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all
things are possible; who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in
our time; who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your
answer». To demonstrate the democracy with a human face Obama shouldn't even do
anything extraordinary. The only thing he needs to do is be in the Oval
cabinet.
And
this doesn't mean that Obama is just a puppet in the presidential chair. It is
said that he is a true democrat and his democratic views are spreading around and
take every single aspect of the American (And not only American) life under
control. Obama has been talking a lot of negative things about his distrust to
those politics that are filled with the righteous anger when speaking about
their opponents and who totally believe in the right of their points of view,
their party's position. Obama is defending the right of a woman to perform an
abortion operation; he talks about the alternative source of fuel and energy.
Obama proposes an improvement in the immigrants' policies for the immigrants
themselves. He also was saying that there is no need in the increase in taxes
(Just this little statement could have brought him lots of the voters to his
side).
But
that's not all there is about Barack Obama. It is said that Barack wants to
keep the Cuban embargo (Even though the UN has stated that this embargo was
illegal), he thinks that the Latin America is now lost by the USA (What the
hell is that supposed to mean?), he now supports the phone calls' run-throughs
(There were times when he thought of the idea as a complete violation of the
freedom of speech) and his popular view on taxes isn't as simple as it seems.
Turns out Barack was talking about the decrease on the corporate tax.
This
is where we get quiet a controversial image of the new president of the United
States of America. From one point of view Barack is the true democrat that is
capable of turning the failing «cruiser» around and making a miracle just like
Roosevelt did but on the other hand this is an unprincipled politic that acts
just like a weathercock and changes his mind with any blow of the wind. Which
one of the images is the true one - it is hard to predict. Predicting what the
44th president Barack Obama would be like is fairly impossible. Obama does not
possess enough experience and he hasn't been known much for his politics, he
had never demonstrated any of his practical moves. Everything there is to know
about the man called Barack Obama is the things that he says. And you cannot
really treat the words of a politician as the law, especially when these words
are the words of the presidential race speeches. Do not trust the politicians.
When
talking about Obama phenomenon and the way he became a president out of a
senator nobody has ever heard about you shouldn't really forget about one of
his distinctive features. That is his charisma. Obama possesses the charisma of
the enormous strengths. (Charisma is a certain quality of an individual
personality, by virtue of which s/he is set apart from ordinary people and
treated as endowed with supernatural, superhuman, or at least specifically
exceptional powers or qualities. These are such as are not accessible to the
ordinary person, but are regarded as of divine origin or as exemplary, and on
the basis of them the individual concerned is treated as a leader' (M. Weber))
Take
a look at the man's smile, even the famous smile by John F. Kennedy wasn't as attractive and appealing as
Obama's is. This may be because of his smile that so many of the political
scientists compare Barack with Kennedy (John F. Kennedy was also one of those
appealing and charismatic presidents). But the smile is not everything that
Obama has up his sleeve. His speeches can turn the coldest crowd on. If that's
not enough Obama is capable of charming the politicians, businessmen and eve
journalist - those people who because of their professions are prepared to deal
with everything with that bit of skepticism and distrust. But even those people
are starting to get infected with the «Obamamania».
The
same charisma as Barack Obama possesses is what such leaders as Buddha, Moses,
Christ, Martin Luther King, Mahatma Gandhi, John Kennedy possessed. However the
charisma of the same power was what Adolf Hitler, Mussolini, Vladimir Lenin,
and Trotsky, Mao and Genghis Khan had. What path will Obama go is a tricky
question.
The
impression that Barack Obama has made on those who had listened to his speeches
through the election campaign is the same as the one that Adolf Hitler had on
those people in 1933 who had listened to him. There is the same feeling of
security and the idea that one will go everywhere where the man will call him
to the same positive-only intussusceptions of the words that the orator speaks.
There is the same charisma of the spokesman that no one can actually understand
but the one which captures one's mind forever from the first glance and the
first words the man pronounces. And even more important is the fact that after
the speech is over and one reads through the text of the speech one cannot see
anything concrete in it. The phrases are vague and the core is built around the
charisma of the man, not on the ideas of him.
And
this is to my mind where it gets scary because the charisma guys do not appear
just like that. Those guys usually appear at the specific time in history (One
can say at the moment of a high need of this type of a leader). The charisma
guys are always bringing changes, perestroika and even more often the new world
order.
What
remains the question is which path Mr. Barack Obama will choose. Is it Mahatma
Gandhi's or Adolf Hitler's path? Is it Buddha's or Trotsky's path? We shall get
to know pretty soon.
