Vanessa-Mae is a special person to find her
own particular niche in the world show-business. The followers
of classic violin music who take care of the implicit adherence to the centuries-old
traditions of composition performance playing the violin treat the
techno-electronic experiments by Vanessa-Mae
with some skepticism. On the other and, the typical pop-music players and the music
aimed at commercial success are also difficult to perceive and accept the
English lady of Chinese and Thai origin. Yet, the violin and show biz do not
actually contradict but they are not compatible at all. And Vanessa is aside
from the basic sow biz figures though she is one of the musicians acknowledged
at the world level.
Vanessa-Mae was born
on October 27, 1978. She tied all her life with Great Britain wheninher
mother, a Chinese woman divorced with her husband, a native of
Thailandandmoved to England for permanent residence. Here she married
to a promising lawyer Graham
Nicholson who committed significantly to the musical career of his step
daughter, though Vanessa-Mae was
keen on music from the age of three when she started with the piano.
She was
educated at the independent Francis Holland School
in London. And her
step father was the first to introduce her to the violin. 1982
She was acknowledged
talented violinist when she made her international professional debut at the Schleswig-Holstein
Musik Festival in Germany
in 1988, achieved fame and success and a year later she was a member of the philharmonic
orchestra and at the age of 13 she had her first solo instrumental record. Though,
it was just her first steps and some time later she tried the electric violin
ad she fell in love with her new instrument.
She came to
the idea to create her own style in music and experimented with performance of
classic compositions playing the modern instrument wit the new arrangement. In 1994
she released her first «electric» album that found its followers around the
world ad she woke up as one of the talented classic music artists in Great Britain.
Since then
and till now Vanessa released about a dozen of albums and singles where classic
works were performed along with her own works. Her albums were sold in six million
copies and Vanessa-Mae along with
Madonna, Céline Dion and other pop music performers realized in the appropriate
time that one of the profitable activities is tours. She succeeded in this activity
also when her concerts were broadcasted to over 100 countries of the world. Vanessa
supposes that in conditions of the world financial crisis the best approach to
minimize financial losses is only concerts. And she is really willing to work
hard at such shows. She admits that crisis is not something to get frightened
since she is used to work hard from the childhood. And anyway, if she loses her
assets she is read and capable to earn more to ensure the prosperous future.
Vanessa
owns more than considerable assets ad her wealth is the subject of discussion.
Sheearned the highest profit during the first half of the second millennium. Vanessa was then one of the most popular musicians
in the world and by the totals of the year 2005 she headed the top of the most
successful show-biz artists at the age of 30. In April 2006,
Vanessa-Mae was ranked as the richest young artist under 30 in the Great Britain
in the Sunday Times Rich List 2006 with the estimated fortune of about $64
million dollars from concerts and record sales of estimated 10 million copies
world wide. This is incredible achievement for a young female violinist.
Currently the
wealth of Vanessa-Mae is stable
and even during the critical time when almost everyone bears losses, Vanessa
can boast with her assets of over seventy million dollars.
