It is the XXI
century when the concepts about Russia
as one of the patriarchal countries became weaker. It's about twenty years already
as women in Russia
are presented the opportunity and all challenges to get occupied in every sphere
of life to avoid disregard and ignoring by men. It is over few decades that women
in Russia
are granted the opportunities to earn money for life supported by legislation. And
yet, women find themselves business-like to make money and flourish. And a rare man can arrogantly call her a «housewife».
And where the women are engaged in business, the list of wealthiest people is
unavoidably completed with names of women. Thus, who are the wealthiest women
and what are they?
Bear in mind
that it is not a custom to publish officially the financial performance in Russia.
So, the Russian ratings of the «wealthiest» people is the relative variable
that is totally subject to the extent the mass media is informed who regularly
make such ratings. In this view, it is difficult to say that openly published
financial reputation conforms to the reality, though the whole picture is
possible to make.
The most demonstrative
is the comparison of lists of Top 10 Wealthiest Women in Russia «before and after crisis», published
within 2007 and 2009. Thus, the top list of women before the crisis in Russia
looked as follows.
The first
place goes to the spouse to the Mayor of Moscow city, Elena Baturina, and this
is not surprising that she was the first and the only domestic billionaire (taking
into free currency). By the estimates of the most optimistic Russian experts, the
wealth of Baturina reached to the point of $6 billion US dollars. Natalia Mironenko,
the co-owner of «Dekra» developer group is left behind since her assets were «funny»
enough to compare with the capital belonging to Baturina of $350 million US
dollars.
The Top Wealthiest Women in the previous year was ended with Madina
Badzhaeva with her $340 million US dollars, the widow Zia Badjaev, the
President of «Alyans Group». Tatyana Kuznetsova, one of the largest
shareholders and top-managers of «Novatek» company, could boast with the same
assets. Remembering the love of the Russian to juices, one of the shareholders to
the «Lebedyanskiy» factory, Olga Belyavtseva could gather wealth to the year 2007
that totaled $300 million US dollars.
The sixth place goes to Lyudmila
Pinkevich, the co-owner of «Nastyusha» Grain Company who owned approximately
$250 million US dollars at her accounts. The chief account of LUKOIL, Lyubov
Hoba, has the financial state of ten million USD less. The eighth place goes to
the member of the Board of Directors and the shareholder to «Sibir» Air Line Natalia
Fileva with her $200 million US dollars. Thanks to 15 % shares to the «Cherkizovo»
Group, Lidiya Mikhailova was confident with her $190 millions of USD. And Nina
Metlenko, the shareholder to the Beer Brewing Plant «Ochakovo», was the last to
close the top ten wealthiest women who could earn on the weak point of men to
have beer for over $160 million US dollars.
The world financial
crisis had an adverse effect onto financial state of the wealthiest women of Russia,
and also their enthusiasm to officially make public even the approximate
figures on their wealth. And for this reason the specialized mass media prepared
the updated «women rating» in March 2009, though the precise figures were not
published. It is obvious that Elena Baturina still tops the rating among the wealthy
women, though her advantage over her competitors is not that significant since
due to deterioration of the economical state of the market and forced sale of
some assets, the financial state of multi-millionaire makes approximately 1
billion dollars.
The second place is
solidly occupied with Olga Belyavtseva who could increase her assets twice as
much. Also Natalia Fileva jumped from the eighth to the third place which is
very good for her. «Stability is the sign of class», believes Tatyana
Kuznetsova and keeps the fourth line in the rating. Lyudmila Pinkevich could
benefit from the crisis and she jumped a line up, to the fifth place. The similar
situation is with Lidia Mikhailova, she is on the sixth line as compared with
her ninth place in the previous year. And today we see new faces among the
wealthiest women of Russia.
The seventh place is occupied with Gulzhan Moldazhanova, the Director General
to «Basel» (Basic
Element) Company; the eighth place goes to the Chairman of the Board of
Directors of the Distribution Network «Seventh Continent» Galina Ilyashenko. Elena
Blagova, the Executive Manager to the Volzhskiy Pipe-making Manufacture, is
also included to the list of the wealthiest women in Russia. And the rating is ended
with Tatyana Franus, the shareholder and the former top-manager to «X5 Retail
Group» Company who owns several distribution network.
