Almost every person out there is somewhat
attracted by France. There are a lot of tourists who once visited France who
later on wish to live in France forever. A mild, pleasant climate, picture-like
magnificent architecture systems, extraordinary natural beauty of France - all
of the factors make the country so attractive and desirable. It is then a no
surprise that prices for property in France increase from year to year. The
prices grow even at a faster rate in the South of France where the climate is
especially boon and pleasing, at the seaside... where the prices grow.
Well, not everyone can afford a piece of
property in the South France... There are, however, a lot of Russian businessmen
who are lucky enough to be the owners of the precious squared meters at the
South France coasts. It is, by the way, because of Russians (according to
National Property Agents Federation of France) that the prices for property
have risen up in two in the «capital of the world» in the last six years. The
mass media has grown tired of listing the names of Russian oligarchs who have
bought a villa on the South France seaside, there are just too many of them.
One of the names is the name of the scandalously-known Boris Abramovich
Berezovsky who is now the owner of a luxurious, magnificent castle Chateau de
la Garoupe which is located in an aristocratic place in the south of France
called Cap d'Antibes. After buying Chateau de la Garoupe from Mrs. Norman from
England, Boris Berezovsky has also bought the villa Chateau de la Croe which is
built in a strict Victorian architecture style which was built in the year 1927
by the famous architect Barton Villa.
In contrast to Boris Abramovich Berezovsky,
a well-known Russian businessman, a former leader of the golden top hundred of
the Russian billionaires according to Forbes magazine, Roman Abramovich has
informed the mass media that the gossips going on around him stating that he
was about to buy a villa at the Azure Coast were nothing but lies. The present
leader of the top hundred of Russian billionaires by Forbes, Oleg Deripaska, on
another hand, prefers to go somewhere else on holidays, while he visits his
mother in France who is supposedly living there today.
Modern Russian oligarchs have three main
spots in France where they are interested in buying the property. First of all
it is, of course, Paris - «the capital of the world». Living in Paris is very
prestigious as well as walking, resting and visiting it for shopping-trips. A
lot of Russians love resting underneath the shade of the French vineyards, so
buying property somewhere near the vineyards in France is one of their
priorities. And of course, just like any other Europeans, Russians are in love
with the Azure Coast. Azure Coast is by the way the most popular place in
France for foreign investing.
Apart from the location of the property,
Russians are very interested in the accommodation's conditions and features.
Simple apartments are not something that could attract the oligarchs. Russians
usually prefer something extraordinary. Beautiful, uncommon villas with their
own nature and composition at the coast or carved in a mountain. Or castles!
Castles are even better! The more uncommon and more interesting the history of
the castle is, the less time it will need to be bought by a Russian oligarch.
Not every British or American businessman would buy a haunted castle or a villa
with ghosts but Russians would increase the prices by a lot to decide who of
them would get the desired castle or any other magnificent piece of the
architecture art in the south of France. It is not only because such property
would make one able to surprise his or her friends that it is so desired but
also because buying a piece of property like that would easily make one feel like
a real king or queen of his or her life.
Well how much would a piece of property in
South France really cost? Taking into account that the prices are influenced by
a lot of factors it is very hard to state the exact price of a villa that one
would be in particularly interested. However what we can do is stating the
price of the most expensive villa ever bought the price of which has shocked
even the South France that is ready for high prices. A house at the French
Riviera «Leopold's Villa» named after the king of Belgium Leopold the Second,
it was built in the year 1902 and was sold to one of the Russian oligarchs for
the price of 750 million US dollars. The lucky owner of the twenty acres of
land property is still unknown. And even though all of the mass media were
trying to «accuse» Roman Abramovich in buying the land and the house he
rejected these gossips. Even though it is almost impossible to buy this much of
land at the southern coast of France without buying a couple of villas and
houses nearby and combining them in a manor, such price cannot be even compared
to any other property price in the world. And according to luxury property
agents and retailers this is just another way for Russians of reminding of
themselves and stating that they are able to afford something like this.
However it is rather interesting and curious that the name of the owner of the
estate is still kept in secret.
