The Christian
Dior Eau Sauvage fragrance is the first scent for men offered by Dior. The
scent created by the best perfumer in the industry of French perfumery and the
scent advertised by one of the most sexual men of 20th century is
still one of the most demanded fragrances for men. This
perfume proved to be the best present for any kind of men anytime for any occasion to prove.
In 1966 the
Dior Perfumery House launched the new fragrance Christian Dior Eau Sauvage with
the unique aroma. The eau de cologne for men came as the exclusive fragrance
for men among a variety of tender and passionate perfume for women by Dior. The
great legendary Maestro of Scents died in 1957 and the perfumery house has
never offered fragrances for men, never ever till 1966. the new fragrance
composition was created by the great perfumer Edmond Rudnitska who was also the
one to create the triumphing scent for Dior as Diorissimo. To honor the great
couturier and fashion designer Edmond
used the notes and aroma the Maestro loved most of all including the sensible
mix of citric accords and rosemary. The primary blend included vetiver, bitegrin
and basilica to accentuate the expression and passion to the perfume.
The company
management came to decision to create a plain unpretentious but substantial
bottle for the men’s aroma to highlight the modesty in life that is peculiar to
the founder of the house. The idea of the bottle was realized by the famous glassblower
in the perfumery industry Pierre Dinan. As
the bottle designer said, the creation of bottle was very hard since Edmond
Rudnitska was known a man of settled character to dictate his own conditions to
make the bottle and package for Eau Sauvage. The bottle make was a bit troublesome
but they had to take more time for the package. Dinan changed the color palette seven times
before the package for the fragrance styled as the Rolls Royce interior was signed by the
company management and approved by the perfumer. Today the bottle for the Eau de
Cologne is a transparent square glass bottle with the corrugated
surface and metal silver band in the center of the bottle. The 21st
century met the fragrances in the same package as the classic to design bottles
for fragrances.
As for the
perfumery composition, the notes were improved several times within forty
years. In 1982 the new Christian Dior Eau Sauvage Extreme was created with the
accents of cedar and labdanum on the background of classic composition. The
bottle for the breakthrough was developed by the Camin Company. In 2001 the
latest version of годуChristian Dior Eau Sauvage 100 Glacon was launched to the wide
public flashed with the classic notes of Eau Sauvage, but with stronger and
more expressive perception. The bottle design was not changed to show adherence
to good traditions.
The first
ad campaign for Christian Dior Eau Sauvage was launched in 1966. The perfumery house
never thought of inviting a person to be the image for the perfume. Alain Delon, the legendary
actor, most handsome man in the world, was offered to promote the fragrance.
The ad campaigns was made in black and white tones to tell the end consumer on
the hidden men’s power which is not be supported with unwanted diverting
nuances. Later on, as Alain Delon mentioned, he feel in love with the perfume by
himself.
Christian
Dior Eau Sauvage Eau de Cologne was much demanded to the extent that ordinary
people could afford it apart from celebrities as Jean Marais, Jean-Paul
Belmondo and Jean
Reno, strong and manly actors of various periods of the century. Jean-Luc GodardFrançois
Roland Truffaut find the special attraction to the perfume. Beyond the borders
of France Hollywood actors as Adam Mitchel Lambert and Joshua Daniel Hartnett feel the perfume suitable to
their style. and
The ad campaign
