The history
of perfume
Miss Dior is
one of first fresh and tender fragrances that appeared after the intense and
heavy accents of deep evening essences came to the end of population. The perfume
was created in 1947 when it won the hearts of women who missed caress and
tender trail of scents.
As the legend
says, the French couturier Christian Dior, who was famous enough that time,
considered the idea of perfect perfume that would accentuate freshness and
style of the new collection. The fragrance was designed to single out and join
the images to create the unique and new style of women of that day. According to
some separate data, the couturier worked on the fragrance from several months
to four years. The purpose of such long work was creation of the unique
fragrance that highlights and complements the line of fashionable and modern
apparel by Christian Dior.
Jean Carles and Paul Vacher, the authors of the
bouquet, made attempts of trial introduction of perfume. Christian Dior and
Serge Heftler Louiche (the head of Parfums Christian Dior Department in 1947) offered
the fragrance to their acquaintances, ladies from high society, for the trial
period to characterize it in the end. Again, as the history says, no woman liked
the scent. That was conditioned by the stereotype of thinking and strange
composition of the components to resemble and compare with others. The inner vision
prompt to the legendary couturier that nothing had to be changed and in
February 1947 the fragrance was introduced during the New look Collection Show.
Miss Dior by Christian Dior was in every inch of the air to fill the spaces
between the rows and the runway.
The luxury and
sensitive perfume accentuated the feminine collection of apparel with rounded
subtle lines. The fashion of post-war period with its strict shapes and sharp
silhouettes yielded to the romantic frivolous skirts, narrow bodices and
underlined waist line. Miss Dior was floating over the runway full of love and
spring, so much anticipated. That day was triggering for the new fairly tale by
Christian Dior, the eternal story of femininity and delicacy.
Bottle of
perfume
In the year
of perfume creation, Miss Dior was released in limited edition which just
evoked the interest of population. The reputed factory of Baccarat, the
glass-making company, manufactured only two hundred luxury bottles under
custom. Later on perfume was released in classic bottle of square shape to
underline the status of the scent and it moved to the range of new products to
the class of classic perfume. A pattern of broken irregular check was made to
the glass surface of Miss Dior bottle. And that was the image which later
became the corporate emblem of the perfume line by Christian Dior. In 1992 the
new innovative bottle was designed with opaque to translucent walls with the
elegant satin bow at the neck. That elegant detail symbolized the attribute of
haute couture, as designers intended.
Bouquet of scent

is referred to the bouquet of chypre fragrances with obvious floral notes. This
fragrance is associated with the concert of classic music in the spacious room
and the basic passages are opened at new vision and angle to every single
listener. The fragrance is opened with the loud accords of gardenia, enigmatic
galbanum, tart and sweet bergamot and tender sage. Then the heart of the scent
is opened with the seductive and passionate rose, strong narcissus and the deep
aroma of sweet jasmine. The final notes end with the wood trail of exotic
patchouli, aromatic moss, saturated labdanum and elegant sandal wood.
The perfume
broke the hearts of women and sixty years after it is still in the list of ten
bestsellers, according to statistical data. In 2005 the Christian Dior Perfume
house launched the first trial fragrance Miss Dior Chеrie by the trail of Miss Dior. The new fragrance
was positioned as the fresh and soft aroma for young girls and women. It is not
that heavy and intense and is ideal for daily wear.
They say that
fitting rooms at the Christian Dior House are specially sprinkled with Miss
Dior magic aroma before every show.
