Flower by Kenzo comes as one of the demanded fragrances for women by Kenzo. The fragrance was launched in 2000 with the scent of a red poppy flower that is scentless, though. Many people were positively shocked by the ad campaign for Flower
by Kenzo, though this sweet, powdery floral fragrance was conceived with the
intention to link nature to life in the city, like living in a modern jungle of
high-paced contemporary city. Produced by Kenzo, Japan, Flower was created by the
perfumer Alberto Morillas, Spain, and "dressed" by designer Serge Mansau,
France.
Flower by Kenzo Fragrance
The harmonious composition was created by the world renowned
perfumer Alberto Morillas. The scent opens with parma violet, wild
hawthorn,
black currant and Bulgarian rose. The heart notes (otherwise known as
the
middle notes) that make up the main body of the perfume and catch the
most
attention and appeal are white musk, and vanilla, with cassia and
opoponax as
base notes.
Flower by Kenzo is a very sweet scent which is slightly
balanced and made more powdery and smooth by the vanilla and opoponax.
There is
no doubting that the rose and white musk give it a feminine kick and it
really
is a smooth blend of sweet notes, but far from sickly. The wild hawthorn
and
vanilla also give it a warm full bodied feel. It is a lovable mix of
notes.
Packaging - Beauty in Asymmetry
The bottle of Flower by Kenzo was designed by French
sculptor Serge Mansau. The bottle is leaning and slender with the image
of
poppy flower. Since then, different variations of Flower by Kenzo
feature
different pictures of poppy flowers on the bottles to reflect their own
nature
of scents. The perfume bottle comes in is definitely a minimalist
statement - a
smooth, streamline glass bottle that tilts ever so slightly and has the
famous
bright red poppy on the heavy pull off lid. You can see the clear liquid
inside
and it really is a refreshing design. It is eye-catching yet very
subtle. It
really advertises the scent well and is classy and sophisticated, yet a
slight
sense of freshness and modernism. The bottle has its own unique beauty,
and the
design is hard to forget.
The fragrance is available in three sizes (30ml, 50ml and
100ml). Each size represents a different stage in the blooming of a
poppy
flower. A slender curved shaзу of the bottle with a poppy flower in it in a graceful package showы the flower blooming at various phases of life.
Ad Campaigns
Apart from inimitable scent and original design of the
bottle, Flower by Kenzo is remarkable for its classy and fresh
advertising
campaign, in which the squares of the world's largest cities were
swathed with
blossoming red poppies - in 2001 poppies were planted near Centre George
Pompidou in Paris, and a year later, in 2002, red flowers blossomed in
Hong
Kong and Milan, in 2003 - in London and Moscow, and in 2008 - in Madrid.
As the first ‘face' of Flower by Kenzo in 2000 model Sophia
Nicholas was chosen, she lso starred in the commercial for the
fragrance.
In 2007, the ads for the perfume featured actress Shu Qi. Her
Flower movie symbolized the harmony between the nature and the city. In
the
movie, Shu Qi character is walking in the nighttime fairytale forest
accompanied
by bright red fireflies which turn into poppies when the dawn strikes.
In 2010, a new perfume movie was released, directed by
Patrick Guedj. A Japanese actress, Lika Minamoto, features as a fairy lady on the roof of a house in a big city. Fragile, mesmerizing poppy flowers smoothly come from heavens to pave the way and into the city. The city which is loving and enjoying the time.
Flower by Kenzo and Women Who Wear It
Aimed at the contemporary woman, Flower by Kenzo really is a
light, floral feminism fragrance. It is a really light but quite deep
scent
which is perfect for a burst of freshness at the beginning of a busy
day. The
powdery soft vanilla aftermath lasts throughout the day giving you with a
soft,
subtle, lingering scent all day. It isn't too over powering so it really
is
perfect to wear all day every day.
The fragrance really explodes with light rose, vanilla and a
very slight hint of cinnamon. It is sweet but really far from sickly and
it can
be sprayed over and over again without that suffocating effect some
perfumes
have. It lasts all day, although obviously not as strong as when first
sprayed
and even in the morning, if used the day before you can still sense a
very
small light floral offering on the skin. It is a quality perfume without
seeming to overbearing. It is perfect to wear during the day, or of an
evening
if you leave it to settle for a while then the musk will eventually
appear
creating a more dreamy scent.
Kenzo fragrances are popular with many Russian celebrities
who are attracted by its refined elegance. For instance, singer Edita
Piekha lists
Flower by Kenzo among her favorite scents, and a former deputy chairman
of the
board of directors of the RAO UES of Russia Yulia Mozharenko loves
Flower by
Kenzo for its natural beauty. Deputy Chairman of Sberbank of Russia
Bella
Zlatkis wears exclusively Kenzo fragrances.
Kenzo has launched its perennial limited edition, Flower by
Kenzo Summer Fragrance, for summer 2006. It is a new version of the
classic
Flower by Kenzo fragrance. Since introduction of the original fragrance
in 2000,
the Flower by Kenzo collection has increased to different variations,
including
the famous Flower by Kenzo Le Parfum (2003) and Flower by Kenzo Oriental
Eau de
Parfum (2005). Like the other fragrances in Flower by Kenzo line, Flower
By
Kenzo Summer 2006 was created by master perfumer Alberto Morillas.
Flower by Kenzo Summer features the splashes of fresh spicy
nuances and soft floral accords accentuated by woody and musky base
notes.
Overall, it is a well-rounded and unique fragrance. The scent is
reminiscent of
feminine, elegant yet modern and independent characteristics.
As with most perfumes, the price varies depending on where
you got it and what size you get. The usual places such as perfume
boutiques
have it on sale for around $40 for 50ml.
