The legendary Fashion House established in the early 70s in
Paris by the Japanese designer Kenzo Takada launched the perfumery line far
later than other large brands and perfumery houses. And only in 1988 the Kenzo
House offered its first female fragrance. Then Kenzo succeeded in launching
consequent scents as Kenzo Flower and Kenzo Air. Unlike the most brands that regularly
offer fragrances to their customers every several months varying in scents, bottles
and cost, the Kenzo House till recently has stayed apart from this fragrant
marathon launching one or two fragrances every two to three years.
The House revised its policy in 2008 and now every year the Kenzo
offer over a dozen of new fragrances for needs of fickle ladies. One of the latest
perfumes the Kenzo House launched before it accepted to take part in the
perfume pursuit is the famed Kenzo Amour. The perfume was released in 2006.
The Kenzo
House chose to apply to the gifted by God perfumer of the century Olivier Cresp
who created the most legendary fragrances including Dolce & Gabbana Light
Blue, Kenzo L'Eau Par Kenzo, Nina Ricci Nina, Paco Rabanne Black XS. It was
Olivier Cresp who «built» the composition of the Thierry Mugler Angel perfume.
This fragrance is considered the legend of the world perfumery along with Yves
Saint Laurent Opium and Guerlain Shalimar. And Kenzo Amour, the next perfume created by Olivier Cresp, along with the
perfumer Daphne Bugey, who developed it, could only have won among other
fragrances with its fascinating scent. The perfumery composition of Kenzo
Amour is not something extraordinary and exclusive to gasp with surprise though
the end product has the special, recognizable and enchanting scent.
Olivier Cresp got inspired by the oriental exotics when
creating the fragrance as if a loving couple is wandering along the picturesque
places of India, Japan and Vietnam. The exotic luxury of the oriental nature is
reflected in the amazingly sensual and charming perfume blend with the notes of
cherry blossom, white tea, heliotrope, frankincense, vanilla, a dry down of
thanaka wood and musk. Kenzo
Amour perfume opens intertwining with the sheer floral sweet floral accords tripping
out with full-bodied and sensual heart notes with vanilla, musk and wood exotic
half-shade of frankincense that gives the unique twist. It is getting flatter
and ambery-woody in the end. One of the distinctive scent advantages is its unbelievable
strength when you wear the sweet and sensual aroma of vanilla on your skin for
a day long though the primary floral notes succumb to basic accords very shortly.
A little bit later the Kenzo House offered the richer version of the
original Kenzo Amour, that is Kenzo Amour Le Parfum, with a little bit heavier
but too seductive scent for evening wear. The scent became the real sign sensuality.
Kenzo Amour was initially designed to honor love in its various
ways and there is an image of a pigeon, a peace and love symbol, on the pack of
perfume. The icon of designers, the reputed person in the world of industrial
design Karim Rashid created the bottle for the perfume from the varnished glass
and plastic with smooth curves that resemble the edges of the precious gold bar
of the wrong shape. Karim Rashid worked inspired by the works of the famous
abstract sculptor from Romania Constantin Brâncuşi. Karim Rashid has worked
with the Kenzo House before creating the design of bottles and packing for
Kenzo Summer and Kenzo Ryoko fragrances. Herewith, the glowing bottle of various color offered in orange,
dark-pink and golden exert the attention to add to the whole appearance of the
perfume.
Today Kenzo
Amour is still acknowledged as some time ago and this demand for the fragrance
is quite rational. In spite the perfume was released five years ago, it is
still one of the recognized bestsellers of the Kenzo House. The fragrance
is launched till today along with the various versions that go after the
original fragrances. The perfumery sub-division of the Kenzo House launches all
the new versions of its bestseller on a regular basis –annually. The list
includes the limited edition of the Kenzo Amour Indian Holi, released in 2008
and various «seasonal» scents, namely Kenzo Amour Florale and L'Eau de Kenzo
Amour.
Whatever fragrance
is launched by the Kenzo House, no one fails to be discontinued for the wrong
scent, perfume blend or whatever stuff. The reason is the perfume blend created
and developed by the most brilliant and talented persons in the world of
perfumery.
