The never
ending search for the meaning of life is one of the so-called «existentialist» problems,
a sensitive issue which has been bothering the human race for centuries.
However, the problem of extra weight and those unsightly dimples, called cellulite,
often becomes an even more sensitive issue for the fair sex. So, what do you do
with your body that you don't like, and extra weight that you don't need? There
are two options: either change the attitude and love you as you are, or start a
war against the cellulite and excessive weight. To get rid of the unattractive «orange
skin» on your bums and thighs or even less pleasant tucks on your tummy, you can
exercise or keep to a diet, or choose yet another way. In order to lock in the effect
of exercise and proper nutrition you should affect your «problem» areas
directly. One of the most enjoyable and at the same time effective procedures
for body correction is a slimming bath with essential oils.
It's no
wonder that even Hippocrates, who is universally recognized as the father of
medicine, was convinced that taking daily aromatic baths and massages is the
shortest way to health. At the time of Hippocrates, such «aromatic baths» were a
royal luxury. Baths with aromatic essential oils were highly popular in ancient
Egypt. The notorious queen Cleopatra has often resorted to this beauty remedy. At
that time, the bath recipe was kept secret. However, now when they ceased to be
a privilege for the royals, baths are none the less enjoyable for ordinary
people.
By the way,
a regular warm bath can become an effective and affordable method of aromatherapy
for the true hedonist as it helps you to make your body slim and your skin soft
and velvety, sparing you both time and effort. Your wonderful mood will be a
pleasant bonus to these changes.
What is the
secret of this miraculous slimming bath? Essential oils quickly enter the lymph
flow through the skin and go to all organs of the body. Plus, you inhale the
essential oil vapor which is a passive inhalation. Depending on your goal, you
can take a slimming bath or a anti-cellulite sitz bath. Alternatively, you can take relaxing hand and
feet baths.
Here are some
tips that can make bathing comfortable and enjoyable.
-
Take baths not earlier than 2.5 - 3
hours after eating.
-
Do not use hot water for aromatic baths.
Optimum water temperature is 35-38
C. Remember that sweating can prevent absorption of
essential oils through the skin.
-
Before taking a bath with essential oils,
take a shower. We recommend substituting soap with mustard powder, oatmeal or
egging yolk. Cream and salt also will do.
-
Before adding to water, oil can be mixed with sea or table salt, honey, sour
cream, cream, or milk. You should not use soap, shampoo or body lotion for this
purpose. Natural products are better, since they enhance the therapeutic effect
of oils.
-
Average bathing time should be between 10
minutes up to one hour. Showering after the bath is not necessary. After you've
taken an aromatic bath, you should relax for 30 minutes, you can meditate or
nap.
-
The amount of essential oil that you add
to the water depends on its concentration and oil content. It is best to buy essential
oils with purposeful action. They must be accompanied by recipes which would
help you to better learn about the preparation of essential oil compositions.
Slimming baths
are also used to strengthen the cell membranes, stimulate metabolism and improve
skin regeneration. Essential oils skin care helps to improve blood flow to the
skin cells, and tone the muscles. Aromatic baths allow you to not only enhance
the effects of diet and fitness, but also improve the condition of the skin,
making it smoother and softer.
Recently, turpentine
baths are becoming increasingly popular. They also help you to restore normal
metabolism, which is essential nowadays. Turpentine baths can affect the blood
vessels; regulate blood flow to various organs, and restore permeability of
blood vessels.
There are three
varieties of turpentine baths: yellow, white and mixed. Turpentine baths are
natural treatments which you can take around the year at your own home. The
effect of turpentine bath is attributed to the properties of its main
ingredient, turpentine oil, extracted from the resin of coniferous trees.
The rules
of taking turpentine baths are simple. Half-fill the bath with warm water (at
37° C). The temperature must be carefully monitored with a regular thermometer.
Then measure the required amount of turpentine mixture, pour it first into an
enameled ware where you add hot tap water and stir. The mixture is then poured
into the bath and stirred to evenly distribute the turpentine.
Then you go
into the bath and add hot water three minutes later. Water temperature should
be carefully monitored. In case of a white turpentine bath, solution
temperature should be up to 38-39° C, and 40-42° C in case of a yellow
turpentine bath. Average bathing time is from 5 to 20 minutes. Start with 5
minutes, and increase for 1-2 minutes at a time. If you experience discomfort
when bathing, it is necessary to reduce the time, temperature or amount of
turpentine. You should not take shower after a turpentine bath.
Turpentine
baths are recommended not only for the overweight and obese people, but also for
those suffering from arthritis, osteochondrosis, rheumatism and respiratory
diseases (bronchitis, bronchial asthma, and pharyngitis).
