The clutch
of the XIX century was a small women's accessory that contained the most
required belongings like smelling bottles or a handkerchief and which became
the actual trendy item to replace modern handbags for many occasions.
Throughout two centuries the clutch was regularly announced as outdated, though
it regularly came back to be in vogue with a good consistency. Currently a clutch
is an exclusive evening accessory which is evident since a woman of our times has
to keep in her bag more fine things then ladies in the XIX century, including
keys, a mobile, a purse, makeup products and other stuff. Once the clutch was
acknowledged as the accessory for an evening wear, the designers rushed to
create their own clutches and now the majority of them tell from the delicacy
and even luxury so much required to compliment the evening ensembles.
Being
traditionally miniature, the clutch, however, may vary in the shape and
size.
They usually come round, triangle or square. Clutches are mainly made
from leather or luxury
«evening» fabric like satin and velvet matching the decorative
elements. In
some particular cases clutches are made from even the metal.
The
American designer
Judith Leiber creates absolutely unique evening accessories when the
hard case
matches with the plenty of decorative elements presented by the
sparkling Swarovski crystalls. Accessories made by
Judith Leiber are easily and exclusivelyrecognizable.
Most of them distinguish with the
original shape of an animal, for example, and the luster of hundreds
and
thousands of colorful by Swarovski is not possible to confuse with
anything
else. Nevertheless, Judith Leiber created and launched far more classic
square-shaped clutches with metal clasps and again with milliards of
tiny
crystals. There are several designers who are well-known for their
trimmings,
including stylish clutches, like Lauren Merkin, Tory Burch and Nancy
Gonzalez. Lauren
Merkin
releases absolutely elegant clutches from soft leather of classic
shades of
white, grey, black and beige color.
Clutches by Tory Burch are easily
identifiable either. Most models are decorated with the gigantic
ornamental logo as an unusual cross made from metal inserted into the
circle,
and such logo can be seen onto Burch shoes.
The things created by Nancy
Gonzalez distinguish
with the high cost, first of all. The Hollywood
celebrities and even Mishel Obama like the designer things made from
the exotic
skin of python or an alligator which explains the price for the things
of
several thousand US dollars. Nancy Gonzalez made her clutches in the
same
style as the other things she created. She loves classic form, smaller
sizes, and
traditional shades of black, beige and bright-red. Unlike creations by
the most
designers, the accessories by Gonzalez are not designed only for
evening wear, since
moderate colors, strict shapes and consummate elegance are perfectly
matched in
the designer clutches. The clutches from the latest collection by Nancy
will cost from
1.2 thousand US dollars.
In the meantime, the coming Spring-Summer
2010 will make some correction to the clutch segment. Most designers
who included clutches into their
Spring and Summer Collections rejected the idea to make their works of
art tiny
and for the evening wear preferring larger and more practicable
versions of
them. Thus, some clutches by Carolina Herrera are roomy enough to place
all
necessary women's belongings and they are not only for evening wear.
Performed to
match the color of the dress from the bands of various shade, the
clutches of a
quite large size have a practical wicker handle and perfectly go with
stylish
business suits launched in Spring-Summer Collection by Carolina
Herrera.
Classic
square clutches went on prevailing in Spring-Summer Collection of world
brands
launched in the context of the ended Fashion Week. Burberry Collection
included
classic square clutches with the recognizable checkered prints of the
legendary
British brand, clutches from the exotic reptile skin of traditional
shades of
red and black were in the collection by Hermes, while the American
designer
Alexander Wang demonstrated quite an original variation of the classic
clutch,
American football ball-shaped.
