If we look at the different periods of
fashion we see regency, romantic, Victorian, Edwardian, royal etc. Royal
fashion refers to such type of styles including dress-up, jewelries, cosmetics
etc that especially goes with king or Queen or other members of their family. There
is no doubt that a lot of fans around the world follow the Queen's fashion and
style. They are definitely world celebrity persons. Whatever the clothes or hats
or jewelries they wear the rest of the world wishes to know or follow their
styles.
Fabulous, luxuriousness, elegance,
lavishness and whatever you say, all these are applicable only for the royal
fashion. It can be mentioned here that the royal outfits are completely
different from the general people and these are constantly changeable in terms
of their designs. Royal people (King, Queen, monarch) always maintain a
particular style just matching with their tradition and culture. Over the years
fashion has changed among the members of royal family of Britain, the Netherlands,
Spain, Belgium, Jordan and other countries.
Royal persons keep their rich and designer
wardrobe for different purposes like visiting outside countries, meeting
diplomats, presenting before guests and so forth.
If we turn our eyes to the British royal
fashion, we see Queen Elizabeth II who actually runs with some amazing and
glorious fashion. To celebrate Queen's 80th birthday, her evening dresses,
bejeweled gowns and personal jewelry pieces were shown in the Queen's Clothes
Exhibition in 2006. The exhibition on Queen's clothes from 1940s to 2006 was
arranged at the Buckingham Palace State Rooms in London. At least 80 evening
gowns in different colors were shown in that exhibition. Most of her outfits keep
extraordinary designs. But the ‘jeweled embroidered green silk dress' would cross
all minds who visit once the exhibition. Norman Hartnell designed it
beautifully on the occasion of her official visit to Ethiopia in 1965.
If Queen Elizabeth II visits in Japan, she
needs symbolic cherry blossom and if in Canada, acknowledgement of maple
leaves. When she meets special guests, delicately designed of emblematic flora
and fauna is seen in her gown. These are in a word stunning, glamorous,
eye-catching and tasteful. Whoever the persons are, they are to really
appreciate the Queen's such dresses.
Gown is one of the most common suits for
royal people. Some of the gowns are adorned with gold, pearls and diamante that
are worn by Elizabeth II. Queen's state and evening gowns are also designed
with amazing art, embroidery as well as excellent decorations. These works are
especially embroidered by Norman Hartnell. Her majesty's outfits always suit
the seasons and occasions.
Highly efficient and world renowned
designers like Sir Hardy Amies, Norman Hartnell, Ian Thomas worked under the
designing of Queen's most expensive fashion items including majesty outfits,
gowns etc.
Queen's wedding gown was another fashion
outfit that attracted the people around the globe by its splendid beauty. That modern
dress was also designed by Norman Hartnell. Some exquisite materials like
pearls, crystals were used in the wedding gown. When Queen got married with
Philip in 1947 there were some scarcities of pearls due to wartime (2nd world
war) restriction. But Hartnell managed to collect more than twenty thousand of
pearls from the USA. Having a good combination of syringe, pearl orange
blossom, jasmine and white rose, the wedding dress was skillfully merged with
unique decoration.
The House of Molyneux delivered various
dresses for Queen's Commonwealth visit during 1950s.
Moreover, Queen wears skirts. Once it was a
bit long. But it became shorter in the 60s. During 1950s and 60s Queen was used
to wear a mink coat (a coat made of mink fur). This one was designed by Calman
Links.
The hat is another fashion item for the
royal clothing. Queen Elizabeth II is always seen to wear a hat especially when
she appears before the people. It added an extra beauty to her style. The hats
are designed with pleats as well as drapes. Its styles are also varied. Hats
are found from the large brimmed Bretons to handy turbans. Simone Mirman and
Aage Thaarup are the two most important names who would design Queen's hats at
the decade of 60s and 70s.
The late Princess Margaret, younger sister
of Queen Elizabeth II, used to wear classy jewelry items along with
nice-looking party dresses. She was also fond of bearing a majesty pose in her
clothes. However, she was greatly criticized by the British Fashion Houses for
using Dior dresses that were made in Paris.
Queen Maud, Queen of Norway from 1869
to1938 and a member of British royal family, was well known for her Laferriere
evening gown.
Wearing precious jewelry items are also
made different Queens from the general people. Jewelry pieces of diamonds,
pearls, sapphires, rubies or emeralds are very popular as royal fashion.
Sometimes it would not be possible to know
the royal fashion especially what are worn by Queens or kings. So it is a good
idea to observe the exhibition organized in different occasions only for
showing the Queen's clothing. Here you can find the royal fashions including
luxurious clothes, wedding dress-up, occasional fashion, informal dresses,
bonnets, gloves jewelries, gowns, parasols, coronation robes, and even their
shoes. Besides, if you can visit different websites can find lots of nice and
cute pictures of royal fashions worn by royal persons in different occasions.
