The

The great cathedral Sagrada Familia the construction of

Transport
Two-decked tour bus is very comfortable for traveling when
you can go out at the bus stop if you want and get on again with a single
ticket. The terminal for the tour bus for both routes, of red and blue colors,
is at Catalonia square. You will benefit if you buy a ticket for 2 days since
it costs 18 Euros for a day and 22 Euros for two days!
You are handed over a booklet with discount tickets to many
museums, galleries and stores in the city, and a map of the bus routes, which
is very important, with the marked bus changes from the red «modern» to the
blue, «Gothic» one. When traveling by the red line, you will enjoy the La Sagrada Familia
(Holy Family) Cathedral, Park Güell and Tibidabo. The blue line will bring you
to the Spanish Square, the museum of Catalonian works of art, the wonderful Parc de la Ciutadella, the
mountain of Montjuic and the Spanish village located on it invisible to
foreigners and the huge moll Magnum neighboring with the seaquarium. Both
routes go by the famous Gaudi Houses with Casa Batlo, Casa Mila, and La Pedrera. The red
route predominantly goes to the upper mountainous part of the city while the
blue route goes along the lower sea way.
If you live in the Gothic Quarter, you will arrive home from
both routes.
Stores
If you are in Barcelona and are not short of time, pay
attention to the Spanish stores El Cortes Ingles where you can find various
ware of famous brands, from expensive to affordable ones.
There are various trendy stores in Spain like H&M,
C&A, Promod, Mango and Zara also popular in other countries. Small shops
also offer nice things located inside the Gothic Quarter where you will not
leave without getting some jewels, clothes and good shoes.
Kitchen
You are believed to waste your time in Barcelona if you miss
trying the following:
Fish ragout: slices of potato stewed with pieces of goosefish,
gilthead, langouste and mussels, seasoned with picadoo (Catalonian dressing
made from almond, pignoli, hazelnuts and walnuts, garlic, parsley, salt, broth
and … bread!)
Chicken with langouste: tender meat of poultry with sea
products, seasoned with the rich Mediterranean dressing «sofrito» made from
tomatoes, onion and garlic.
Catalonian cream: the dessert aromatized with cinnamon with
crispy hard sugar base.
Grilled fish with green salad with a glass of home white
